![]() A common question I receive by many different types of women is Why do I need make up to look beautiful? The simple answer I always respond first is; You Don't. My next response is that for me personally make up is a form of expression just like paint on a canvas. Using my make up brushes and tools to create a look (or piece of art work in my opinion) on my own and my client's faces is my form of expression. Make up is something I am passionate about and yes I do believe you can use it to enhance your look but it is certainly not needed. If you know me personally you know that I am a beach bum and enjoy tanning in the sun with no makeup on, well maybe a little bb cream with SPF if I am going to a pool/beach party ; ). One of my favorite sayings is from Miss Congeniality; "People care about people who care about themselves." I interpreted this as, if I walked into a big meeting or event with no make up on, it would appear to others that I didn't care about it. Making an effort to look presentable is respectable and goes a long way. I hope this clarifies my point of view as a make up Artist. Keep checking my blog more tips and tricks. After experimenting on my self and my clients I have come up with the following list...
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil (Jet) Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner (Jet Black) Stilla Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color (Medium) Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube (Original) Urban Decay Naked Palette (Original) Mac Eye Shadow Colors (Carbon, Shroom, Saddle, Vanilla) Make Up For Ever Aqua Smokey Lash Mascara (Extra Black) All of these products are must haves because in my experience they are long lasting and consistent. I never travel any where with out them! My next post will be Must Haves-Face. #beauty #whatsinmykit #makeup #mua Follow me on Facebook: www.facebook.com/facebyfarah Twitter: www.twitter.com/facebyfarah Instagram: FACEbyFarah Pintrest: farahh786 contact for bookings: facebyfarah@gmail.com Ever going to the gym, beach or pool and don't want your face to look totally naked? Here are a few products I recommend that won't smudge or run and still make you feel natural. For skin coverage I recommend a tinted moisturizer or color correction formula like Clinque's Moisture Surge CC Cream. Make sure whatever you use has SPF! Stilla Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner pen is my top recommendation for eyeliner. It is easy to apply and comes in 9 colors! A waterproof mascara like Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash is my personal favorite for a little extra drama. A tinted lip balm with SPF is perfect for protection, moisture as well as a little bit of color. Try Fresh Sugar Lip balm with SPF 15. Lastly, for a little bit of contouring use a mineral bronzer like Tarte waterproof matte bronzer! Enjoy your workout!

At those weekend BBQ's and beach getaways make sure you protect your skin. For the face a great daily moisturizer is Olay's Pro Even Skin Tone Sheer Daily Moisturizer with SPF 35. For makeup I am a personal daily user of Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Protector BB Cream with SPF 20. If you need more color correction try Clinique's Moisture Surge CC Cream which has SPF 30. For direct sun exposure make sure your apply a higher SPF and keep re-applying as needed. Neutrogena's Ultimate Sport is water, sweat and rubbing resistant and is available at up to 100 SPF. Remember SPF is a multiplication factor so SPF 10 would give you 10x the amount of time before your skin would burn. Enjoy the Sun and protect your skin! After experimenting with many brands and products I finally have found the 10 brushes for my kit. Mac makes several kinds of brushes and collections but the following ten are what I use in my kit... 1. MAC 129 Powder/Blush Brush I use this for applying blush, bronzer, blot powder, and setting powder. It is medium sized for more precision. 2. MAC 169 Large Angle Contour Brush I use this for applying powder for highlighting and contouring. 3. MAC 130 Short Duo Fibre Brush I use this for blending in liquid foundation or any powder. 4. MAC 195 Concealer Brush I use this for applying concealer under the eyes or on the face. 5. MAC 210 Precise Eye Liner Brush I use this for applying gel eyeliner. 6. MAC 318 Retractable Lip Brush I use this for applying lip primer and lipstick for color and in place of lip liner. 7. MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush I use this for applying eye brow powder and eye shadow under the eyes. 8. MAC 219 Pencil Brush I use this for applying eye shadow under the eyes and for blending. I usually use this brush last. 9. MAC 286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush I use this for applying eye shadow everywhere because it has a pointed end for precision like for highlighting under the brow but it's big enough to use for the whole eye lid. I will usually start my eye shadow process with this brush. 10. MAC 275 Medium Angles Shading Brush I use this for applying eye shadow in the edges of the eye lid for a smokey eye look or for above the crease for contouring. As a South Asian woman with a medium complexion, my dark spots would show as dark brown. To correct dark spots I recommend the following products: Murad Ance Products, Clinique Dark Spot Corrector, Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair, and Garnier BB Cream. The first step in getting rid of dark spots is making sure you don't get any more ance! I have personally tried several different systems for ance treatment including Clinique and Proactive but the system that has worked for me consistently has been Murad. My second step was using the Clinique dark spot corrector. I used the product twice a day after my normal skin routine, concentrating on areas with spots and in about two months I saw a major difference. After using the product for about a year, about 90% of my dark spots were gone! I decided to then switch to Neutrogena because I wanted my skin to test a new product and only had to use this product once a day at nighttime. I have definitely seen a consistency in my skin complexion with this product and as a added bonus it smells heavenly. Lastly, I recently started using the Garnier BB Cream which gives me a flawless color. This tinted moisturizer also provides protection from the sun which helps prevent dark spots. Some people use BB cream as a primer but I personally use it as an every day foundation because of the spf and finish on my skin.
